What is a United Methodist?

ALIVE IN CHRIST: Growing in the Word, Living the Word, Sharing the Word is our mission and the work of a lifetime.

The foundation for mission and work is our belief in the following:

  • We believe that our mission and vision is to be a growing faith community where all are welcomed and served at the table of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that God’s grace is central to our practice of the Christian faith and living.

  • We believe Grace as stated in Ephesians 2:8-9, is God’s unconditional love and mercy extended to all who would accept it by faith in Christ Jesus.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God – not the result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe and practice the two sacraments mentioned in scripture:

Holy Communion

On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion.  Holy Communion is a time when we are spiritually fed by the partaking of earthly elements of bread and grape juice.  Gluten-free elements are available.

Holy Baptism

Holy Baptism is a sacrament of incorporating into Christ's Holy Church.  Water is the primary symbol in baptism and reminds us of our sins being washed away.  Baptism is offered to persons of any age. When children are baptized, they will be asked at a later time to "confirm," or own, the promise made for them at their baptism. It is a symbolic act signifying God’s love and forgiveness of sins and new life.

How Do I Become A Member?

If you are a  full member of another Christian faith community you may transfer your membership letter at anytime.

If  you have been baptized but have never become a member of a faith community, you are invited to participate in a 6-week membership/confirmation class.

If you have never been baptized, baptism is the first step toward full church membership.

Please contact Pastor Linda with questions about baptism or church membership. There is a form under Visit Us where you can let me know what information would be helpful to you. There is also a prayer request form.
